Web Design & Development
Fast, scalable WordPress sites built around how Portland customers actually buy.

Portland is the most competitive market in the state, and the search results show it. You are not only up against other Portland businesses, you are up against agencies with far bigger ad budgets and national directory sites that outrank almost everyone locally. That makes the fundamentals matter more here, not less.
A fast site, a properly built Google Business Profile and pages that answer what Portland customers actually search for will beat a bigger budget spent badly. I built and now manage the site for J.L.P. Services in South Portland, so this is a market I work in rather than one I list on a map.

Ranking work aimed at what Portland searches for, not vague statewide terms.
The profile that decides whether you show up in the Portland map pack at all.
Updates, backups, security and speed handled under an ongoing WebCare plan.
Logo, identity and the design work that keeps everything looking like one business.
J.L.P. Services is a full-service property maintenance and landscaping company in South Portland. They had a strong local reputation and years of work behind them, but almost no digital presence to match it, in a market where their competitors were already buying ads.
I built the site, set the local search work up around the services they actually want to sell, and now manage it month to month. It is the clearest example I have of what this market takes.

You are working directly with someone who has spent years building and ranking sites for Maine businesses. I build the site, run the search work, manage the profile and answer the phone, so nothing gets lost between departments. That matters more in Portland than anywhere else in Maine, because the margin between page one and page two here is thin and it moves.
I am based in West Gardiner, about fifty minutes up I-295, and I am in Greater Portland regularly. Close enough to meet when it helps, far enough that you are not paying for a Portland storefront.
Not for the work itself. Everything I do is remote-first and you get me on the phone or a call within a day. What it does mean is that you are not paying for Portland office overhead, so more of the budget goes into the site and the search work. If meeting in person helps, Portland is fifty minutes down I-295 and I make the trip regularly.
Longer than a smaller Maine market, and anyone promising otherwise is guessing. Expect meaningful movement in three to twelve months depending on how competitive your category is. Google Business Profile work usually shows first, sometimes inside a few weeks. The competitive service terms take the longest.
Yes, and it is worth being straight about it. You are competing with businesses that have real marketing budgets, plus national directory sites like Yelp and Angi that rank for almost every service term. The upside is that most of your direct local competitors still have slow sites and half-finished profiles, so getting the fundamentals right goes a long way.
Not always, but it is a fair question in Portland. Ads buy visibility on the terms you cannot rank for yet while the organic work compounds. If the margins support it I usually run a small, tightly targeted campaign alongside the SEO rather than instead of it.
